AD side effects at three months?!

Hi, I've been on Escitalopram and Propanolol for three months now. My anxiety is not too bad now but since I've been on them I have a constant stuffed feeling and ache in my forehead and behind my eyes plus no energy.
I can't cope with it. It's lucky I'm retired because there's no way I could work, in fact, I'm finding it difficult to do much at all and there's so much I need to do.
Can this be caused by the meds ? Does anyone else still have side effects after this long?

Some people always have side effects from ADs, and for others they pass quite quickly. Have you tried any other ADs?

@NoBaggyPants
No, I've only been on the escitalopram. It took a while for the doctor to get me to take them as I hate the idea of medication. I didn't want to change to another because I could just end up with the same or worse effects.
The doctor always says there are no side effects whatever she prescribes.
I think the beta blockers are the ones that are making me tired due to slowing my heart rate and blood pressure.
I'm hoping I can just get off both of them.

If your retired perhaps it’s menopause decreased hormones
Have a look at
Menopausematters

Gp’s are so quite to dish out Ad’s before doing any blood work
B12
Thyroid
Iron
If you do decide to come off meds
Do it very slowly or you will crash😳
Do one at a time!
Don’t let gp tell you that you can just stop. No no no

@granadagirl

No, not the menopause. I stopped having those symptoms years ago. Up until the day I started taking meds I had lots of energy, and walked at least three miles a day. I've had blood tests before I took the meds and since. They were all ok apart from Sodium level which is too low and apparently the drugs can cause this.
I will definitely taper when I want to come off them. I'm too scared of the effects of stopping to just quit suddenly.

Hey Lime
Wish I’d stopped having the many symptoms! I’m sure it was menopause that tipped me over the edge 8 years ago chronic anxiety that led to depression. Still have high functioning anxiety now.

I’ve been on that med, first 10mg than upped years later to 20mg
Then my crash and put on venlafaxine.

Maybe to strong for you? How about cutting 10mg in half, then half again ie 7.5mg for 6 weeks or so then down to 5 mg
Get pill cutter of amazon couple quid.

@granadagirl
Saw doctor today. We are cutting the Propanolol now over a couple of weeks and will start reducing the Escitalopram after that. At the moment, I take 15mg Escitalopram........, a 10mg and a 5mg daily.

Don’t let the gp rush you, there not the one with the SE to cope with

If you feel with the propranolol after cut it’s too much to cope with, do smaller drop and for longer time
Gp and psych tend to rush getting off meds far too quickly
Do it at what YOUR comfortable with, you are the patient
Good luck & best wishes
