I have high anxiety, and suffered for many years 35+

So this recent bout and being post menopausal as left me with symptoms I’ve never had in all the years of anxiety

Like I get pain in all my teeth ( I don’t not grind my teeth, checked it out)
My tongue feels scalded
I have a tooth ache like ache on the outside of my knee area

These are I think(not 100% still monitoring) appear when my anxiety is high.

Do any of you high anxiety suffers have any weird pain symptoms?

I think it's probably a symptom of both, although I'm 40, and my anxiety pains are mostly shoulders, ribs, neck, back...the usual suspects.

I do dream vividly with anxiety and therefore wake with a sore jaw & teeth, utterly exhausted.

Not much fun, is it? Thanks

It’s the pits!

I can’t even switch off from them.

The teeth & knee aching are far by the worse, it’s last days

Anyone else with unusual symptoms from anxiety?

Yep, 26yo here and the teeth pain from constant anxiety muscle clenching is a real issue. I also get muscle tightness in the fronts of my legs if something triggers heightened anxiety when I’m walking

Yes to the tooth pain, I used to get that all the time.

I suffer with toothache like pain in my face due to clenching my jaw muscles so tight and get stomach ache and upset stomach regularly.

How do u cope ? With your symptoms and thoughts ?
Anxiety is there with me, then like today
I’ve woke with yet another diarrhoea day from wake up !
My thoughts and anxiety are even higher now and won’t stop coming one after another, I’m not getting a break, I’ve had diazepam.
Sat here trying to let them come & go, but something inside of me wants to run and do something to try and take my mind off anxiety

Therapist says acceptance is key and don’t be too hard on yourself
Ie oh just get on with it

Propranolol and weekly sports massage goes a long way towards the muscular pain and I have a few specific songs that seem to chill me out so on worse nights I play them on a loop all night.

I clench my jaw in the night and wake up with sore teeth so got a mouth guard fitted by the dentist. Can’t sleep without it now, it’s very comfortable.

I get calf muscle pain too and use magnesium spray at night which I find makes a big difference.

When my anxiety is very bad I get heart palpitations (been checked out and all fine, definitely anxiety related) and sometimes even bodily jerks/spasms. I seem to store all my tension in my muscles!

Exercise helps, even just going for a walk. Self-compassion and distraction also important.

I get leg and lower back pain. Teeth hurt as well. I take Metaprolol and it's worked wonders for my anxiety.
