Help for my brother - PTSD, OCD, Panic Attacks, Agraphobia

I'm hoping someone wise and wonderful might be able to help me get help for my brother.

He's been virtually a recluse in his home for 5 months following increasingly worse panic attacks, which appear related to PTSD and thought based OCD. He's had a history of panic attacks his entire life. However this particular period doesn't seem to have any signs of getting better and he's losing hope that things will ever change. He hasn't left the house after dark for 5 months, he's unable to work as his work involves being in central London or traveling which is crippling for him. He requested help from his GP and was referred to counseling but is still waiting. He now can't ever get an appointment & can't actually get to the surgery to attend if he could.

He's had a few private counseling sessions but they don't appear to be helping him very much.

Beta blockers don't help, he occasionally will take diazepam but is mindful not to use it often. He has read SSRs may help but can't get the GP appointment to confirm this and is worried trying something could potentially make him worse.

I've suggested I pay for a private doctor to visit him. Would anyone be able to advise how I can possibly do this and if there is a specialist/treatment/surgery/company they would recommend? He is in South East London.

Id love to wave a magic wand and make this all better for him but I feel completely useless.

I'd probably look for a clinical psychologist in the area. Google them but make sure they are registered with the HCPC. I'll imagine CBT will be the recommended treatment (not counselling)

Thanks for replying. He’s currently having CBT and it’s not seeming to be as effective.

I will look into a clinical pyscologist.
