Really struggling at the moment with internal vibrations

Bit of history, suffered PND 20 years ago and spent two years on antidepressants, since then I’ve gone back on antidepressants 3/4 times when things have become too much. I’ve currently been off them for 6 years (my longest period)

I’ve had a very stressful 3/4 months (child in hospital, dh on long term sick and close family member diagnosed with cancer). I managed to get through this period and things started to go wrong shortly after everything settled down.

My problems started about a month ago when I was off with the flu. When I started to recover I started to experience internal vibrations/shaking, I wasn’t too concerned at first, but when they continued I went to the doctor who ran bloods, it came back Vitamin D deficiency (I was given a 7 weeks course) half way through the course now but the vibrations are still there. I went back to the doctors who said they won’t do anything else until my vitamin D levels are normal because they may or may not be causing these symptoms.

It started to cause me anxiety and that no doubt is making the feelings worse. I made the mistake of googling and panicked at what came up.😔 I know google is the devil when you search under these circumstances.

I’ve been anxious for the last few weeks and tried my best to self help, meditation, rescue remedy and increased exercise, but it’s not going away and it’s getting worse. I know if I go back to the doctors they will say it’s anxiety related, when I know I got anxious because of the vibrations.

Been on a nice 12 mile walk today, but since I’ve been back my anxiety is through the roof and I’m panicking like mad.

Feel better for typing it out.

When meditating, make sure you expel more air than you take in. So if you breathe in for 5 seconds, breathe out for 10 seconds until you're empty of air.
In through the nose and expel through the mouth.

But did it help?

Pollyhops · 20/02/2019 17:27

It did while I was meditating, thanks 🙂

Good. Try also to push your stomach out rather than in when breathing in. Difficult at the beginning.
When meditating are you mindful of the mind and what it is doing and when you do see the mind let go of it and become mind - less?
This is how you find the silence.

I am having the same problem with internal vibrations for the past 3 months. Has any of you found the reason behind this?

Jinglebell2020 · 26/02/2020 22:58

I get this too, I liken it to sitting on a washing machine going full spin.

@noego great tip for breathing exercises, been doing that and it actually does seem to help. A bit like grounding. Thank you.

@Pollyhops I could have written ur post. ((Hugs)).

I’ve had this too for the past 18 months.

I went for a blood test and was vit D deficient. I took prescribed pills for 7 weeks and it got better. They are back again now, I’m guessing it’s because of the winter months. I’m due to have a blood test next week, and guessing I’m guessing it’ll be the same.

At first I was thinking about it constantly (and making them worse) now I’m so used to them I hardly notice them (but I know I’m still having them iyswim)

I no longer google symptoms and I’m a lot happier.

@Tinkie25 Thank you for replying. I am due too for a blood test next week and I really hope to find a reason. My GP said its probably stress related but my anxiety started after the vibrations and because of them but I surely feel them stronger when I am stressed. And you are right about googling symptoms, it's a recipe for disaster!

Hi,

It's not just me then! Likewise I have been suffering major depression/anxiety for the last 18 months. The internal spin cycle was how I knew I really wasn't well. I often wake up with it but then once going about things I stop noticing. It's back in full today. I too had bloods done for vitamin D deficiency and have supplements prescribed.

I know it's stress/anxiety/depression related because it only started after a major life stress which triggered the mental health crisis. Wish I knew why though.

@NeelaBlue what do you mean caused by your fit bit?
@Mehripoop
A lot of people have reported all kinds of aches pain from wearing fitbits that have heart rate monitors. The monitor’s signals or L.E.D. lights (or whatever - I don’t know exactly) seem to cause problems in some sensitive individuals. A few people reported vibrations (which might have been related to nerve damage).
Anyway, in my case it all stopped when I stopped wearing the FitBit.
What I find weird is that it seems not to have an off button ? My sleep was terrible unless it was away in a different part of the house- eventually I had to let the battery drain completely and now I feel better.
