TTC baby #3 as an OCD sufferer

Hey I'm new here!

I've recently had my implant removed and we are ttc baby #3.

I was diagnosed with OCD a year and a half ago when my youngest was around 8months old.
I'm terrified of my OCD going haywire if/ when I fall pregnant..

I'm currently on citalopram.

Anyone else in a similar boat? X

Why do you think it will go haywire if/when you fall pregnant? Is it because you would need to stop pills? What kind of ocd do you have? I wanted a third, but now I think I will stop at 2, as I suffer from emetaphobia. I freak out if they say their tummy hurts etc...which happened tonight. First my son, then my daughter. That was hours ago, nothing happened and they are asleep. But I am left awake and anxious. All I want to do is sleep!

Have you tried talking to anyone with ocd? I do not know much about it, other then I have it a bit (mainly because of my fear of vomitting) so I started having to wash my hands loads - like 20 plus times a day. Make sure my kids also wash their hands (for them its just when they have been out of the house and coming home and after toilet...I also have to wipe down the house like a hundred times over if I feel anxious....with dettol. I hate it. It has gotten worse with age....I think this seems to be normal...age seems to bring out problems unless you learn to deal with them. Sorry for my rambling...I hope you find someone a lot more helpful.

Didn’t want to read and go!

I suffered from postnatal OCD in the year after having my little boy. It was quite horrible but it eventually went away. I didn’t talk to anyone about it as I was scared but having mentioned it to my midwife this time round she said it’s more common than you think and if I’m feeling that way again to speak about it. Have a chat with your midwife, I’m sure she will put your mind at ease. Mine certainly did x

@StarlightIntheNight I too have this phobia. It's very scary and I convince myself that I will be ill if anyone else is. I'm in the hand washing camp too. And I'm a nightmare as I don't like anyone else preparing meals in case they don't do hygienically. Last time my eldest son was sick I fainted!
Last time I was sick (15 years ago) I had to get an emergency doctor to come out to give me an injection as I was in full blown panic attack.
I have anti emetic tablets from the doctors which definitely help.
I MUST go and seek help for it.
I feel for you. It's so tough.

@spellingtest, my dd just vomited, so I am in full panic mode. I have had anxiety since 8pm when my son said he didn't feel well...he went to bed and hopefully he is okay. My dd then said she didn't feel well and vomited twice an hour ago. Now I of course am panicking and just wish I could go and live alone. I hate this so much. Why does this always freaking have to happen at night time?? I should probably just go to sleep...but I am worried. My dd is asleep now...I hope the rest of the night everyone sleeps well..me included.
