Emotionless on cirtalopram

My 19yr dd has taken this medication for nearly two years and although I'm sure it has saved her life, it is also making our relationship almost impossible! Her dose is 40mg which is high, and I consider her to be without empathy or compassion at all, or for anyone. I'm recently divorced from her dad and taking care of her and 4 siblings! To be frank she's a complete 'bitch' to me, almost every conversation; however well thought out; leads to a blazing row!
She can't take any criticism or even advice, and anytime I ask her for help or to clear dishes or pick up milk on her way home.... I've actually started to avoid asking, as I creates more stress!
Realistically, it's like living with her father all over again!
This was why we separated!
She says the same crap he used to say to me!
If it's the medication, what can i do? She's 19!
I can't wait for her to move out! But I miss how she used to be!

At her age not much. You could suggest she gets her dose checked. You can ask her to move out if she refuses to try and modify her behaviour or check her meds.

I was on that dose a while and it does make you become numb and emotionless. Maybe try speaking to her about reducing the dose as it is a high dose to stay on, I gradually reduced mine with advice from gp but ended up switching over to a different medication in the end.
I wasn't nasty on them towards other people it made me not care what people said so I didn't really get angry.
