Difficult night - is anyone awake?

Feel panicked and anxious.

Having very intrusive thoughts and sleep is completely out the question.

I have rang a support line earlier - it didn’t really help as I couldn’t get across how unwell I’m feeling.

Don’t know what to do - at moment I’m posting here and playing games

Love the username @jeezyouloon 😂

It’s just good to know I’m not alone.

I really should try something to get back to a normal pattern of sleep but I’ve had a real quiet day and slept a lot

Awake again too! Hard to break a pattern when sleeping in the day. I can't so just end up more and more exhausted at the moment... Hoping to recover in half term...

JeezYouLoon · 03/02/2019 01:30

Define 'normal' - everyone's normal is different!

Handlingit · 03/02/2019 01:35

Generally I sleep 11am til 7am but last few nights it’s all gone to pot.

At least we are busy in day tomorrow so no sleeping for me

I have psychology this week and I’ll be glad to see someone. I did try and ring CMHT but I got someone I couldn’t talk to easily.

Is it worth trying again? Could always out the rugby on to either distract or help you fall asleep 😉

nevernotstruggling · 03/02/2019 01:43

You still there op?

Handlingit · 03/02/2019 01:49

I might grab the quilt and make a nest on the sofa and find something to watch

I could ring the CMHT again on Monday (they are closed over the weekend) but I am very much one of those who carries on until I really really can’t anymore.

Problem is I struggle to say I’m struggling and end up being told to do breathing exercises when I’ve got intrusive thoughts about not wanting to be here

A nest sounds like a perfect place to be and there's no need to go anywhere else Smile

Hi op, how are today? I'm exhausted too I lay awake all night and it's been the same for the past two weeks HmmI've found accepting I won't sleep as I want to helps. MedidYion sleep apps help a bit. Getting up for a drink, paracetamol helps. Sorry you're suffering too.

Aaaahfuck · 03/02/2019 08:16

How are you doing op? I've had a rough week with anxiety. I upped my sert dosage and was starting to feel a bit better but then last night was rough. Just telling you this so you know you're not alone. As @IamTheMeg said I try to accept I'm not going to sleep. Sometimes for me getting up and putting some lamps and radio 4 on and making a cup of herbal tea helps. Makes it feel less isolated.

anniehm · 03/02/2019 09:17

Hope you are feeling a bit better in the cold light of day - I've found comedy podcasts are great for sleepless anxiety ridden nights, i then drift back to sleep. Go to a&e otherwise, it's what it's there for but you need to know what you are asking for so write everything down so you don't struggle for the words. Thinking of you - spent too many nights awake myself or at a&e with dd's mental health.

Handlingit · 03/02/2019 11:37

Thank you - I slept 2am til 9am which is heading in the right direction.

So sorry to hear that it has been an anxiety filled week for lots of you. It’s the weather and time of year that does it I think.

I have been to A&E in the past but I wait until no other option / things are very unsafe. I hate going to A&E - makes me feel like such a time waster

Glad you are having a bit of sleep op. I’ve tackled a bit of clutter today which has helped. I hope you manage to get through to someone at CMHT tomorrow. If you feel up to it ( and you would like to )do let us know how you get on. Thinking of you 💐

Orchidflower1 · 03/02/2019 16:16

Also I should have put you’re not a time waster if you need to go to a and e to be safe. Now the drunken idiots and the woman on my road who went with a splinter (!) that’s a different story.
💐

IamTheMeg · 03/02/2019 17:36

Keep talking to us here. You're not the only oneBrew

Aaaahfuck · 03/02/2019 17:56

Please don't feel like a time waster. You deserve a and e as much as anyone. Although I know how you feel!! I do think this time of year is horrible for anxiety. Try to get out of the house or talk to friends and family if you can. I saw my sister for coffee today and it helped. I'm now trying to battle with anxiety that I'm always going to be this anxious and I've ruined my life. If that makes sense? Like obviously it's not sensible but just that feeling of ok this is me now.

Handlingit · 03/02/2019 22:44

Hope you are all ok - I have spent the afternoon / early evening with a friend.

Anxiety is a little better tonight though it’s building - I’m trying to tackle them though.

Sunday nights are always worse. I think it’s anxiety about what the week will bring.

Sending strength op, I am often awake in the middle of the night with anxiety, it is so very lonely Thanks

Lisabel · 04/02/2019 00:37

Hi OP, hope you're ok tonight. I'm struggling with OCD intrusive thoughts (not of self or other harm but still distressing!) and thinking of you!

Orchidflower1 · 04/02/2019 20:34

Hope all have had a reasonably ok day.

Handlingit · 05/02/2019 00:32

Hello all

Another night and more anxiety. I didn’t contact CMHT as I was busy dealing with other stuff and I couldn’t face being asked if I am doing my breathing exercises (I am but it’s really not working).

Hope you are all ok?
