Sertraline and weight loss?

I've just finished my 2nd month and after a couple of comments that I looked "well" I weighed myself an I've lost 8lbs since starting.
My BMI has gone from 29 to 27.9 so not a huge change there and I can do with loosing some more weight tbh.

What I'm wondering is as the side effects says to tell your GP about unexplained weight loss, at what point should I be concerned about it?

@lostvoice it's probably worth mentioning at your next appointment if you're concerned about it. Have you still been eating normally etc? I know if I'm feeling down I tend to go off food altogether and at one point was just eating like a sandwich a day and that would do me, so it was my eating habits rather than the tablets if that makes sense

Maybe record your weight and then keep a food diary for a week or two so you know exactly what you're eating (maybe you think you're eating more than you are?) and then record your weight at the end of it too so that you have something to present your GP with?

Thanks for your reply @amyem
I haven't got another appointment due with the GP to review at all, just the one a couple of weeks after I started.

I would say my eating habits are the same as before but I think the idea of a food dairy for a little while is a good one

Maybe because I'm feeling better in myself I'm just getting out more which is making a difference too

@lostvoice yeah that's true, I also found that they suppressed my appetite a little bit as well, and generally just stuck to main meals rather than picking about at things in between as your mind is obviously preoccupied with other things. I thought they'd have asked to see you to keep reviewing it though, mike booked me in every 4 weeks for a check up but I guess all doctors are different. If you're worried though you could always give them a call and see what they say

I feel like I should have a couple of appointments just to check in, I was told I would need to be on the tablets for at least 6 months but the repeat prescription is valid for a year.
I'll make one for the new year and see where I'm at then, keeping an eye on my diet etc until then
