Hi all. I am having a very difficult time th is month and nobody can work out what is wrong with me so I was just hoping to hear from anyone with similar experiences.

I am having a lot of stress accumulated over the past few years and it is not a surprise if it causes my problems- however, some things just don't add up.

I have chronic headaches - one started lats Jan and finished in June with bouts of migraines in between, another I had all Sep-Oct. When that calmed down, I had a feeling I was a greeting a migraine so took an Immigration tablet as had in the past.. It lowered my blood pressure to 80/sth and heart are 137bpm. My neighbour and friend is a Gp so went round to his and as I eventually calmed down, he th out by it was a reaction to medicine.

Since then however,I started feeling extremely light but headed, nauseous, that attacks would bring on diarrhea, I had a feeling of melting away, dying. My friend took my blood pressure a few times and found it normal or up to 140/sth. Most times I had a chest pain, extreme light-headedness, tinnitus, nausea, feeling anxious. One time he called an ambulance as my BP wouldn't drop from 140. They did numerous blood tests and Ecg at hospital, found no th ING. I called two days later for some results and said I was feeling very dizzy still and they asked me to go back again.all investigations clear. I ve send my Gp and asked me to wait 2 more weeks to see if it goes away. Next two weeks were hell. Too weak and lightheaded to look after my kids or do anything, slightly elevated pulse (80-90) would give me symptoms.. Called ambulance early this week as chest pain breathlessness etc was getting so bad couldnt calm myself down. Stayed the night in the AMU they could not find anything. I have lost almost a stone in the lastonth due to nausea and loss of appetite. I usually wake up lightheaded and then have an episode of palpitations late morning or evening.

Today I called an ambulance again as I woke up at 7am having worst palpitations and breathlessness ever, diarrhea etc. Paramedics hto if he must anxiety as it aimed down. Saw my Gp soon after that and put me on diazepam, to see if it reduces anxiety or else he ll be sending me to cardiologist. My ears have been ringing since this morning and feel so weak, had a couple of "palpitation" incidents. Took a 2mg diazepam at 10:30 which made no very drowsy, bust still get tinnitus, light-headedness and palpitations.
Will diazepam take days to calm me down? Does it sound like panic attacks when it comes on so frequently?

Hello there
It sounds just like my anxiety. Panic attacks can come on so quickly and a it’s worst I was having about 2 every hour. And then when they are not full blown panic attacks, feelings of anxiety can be pretty constant eg light headedness. Chest pain from shallow breathing - muscles between ribs stat to hurt. Tinnitus common with stress/anxiety. I have that.
You could get your heart checked and then focus on a recovery path. Good news is that anxiety is temporary and no one has ever died from it. A good chance to reassess your life. Clair Weekes book are brill. Eat less sugar, exercise, try and look at de stressing and CBT for better thinking etc etc in short term, to deal with waves of panic, read claire weekes method or find some breathing exercises on internet. Good luck x

Thanks shiporsheep.. Hope you are feeling better these days..

So you are saying that being lightheaded most of the day, having an attack with palpitations, nausea, diarrhea, chest pain and extremw anxiety at rising, around 11am and in the evening most days could just be anxiety? I had so many ECGs this month and detailed blood tests and they don't think it's cardiac. But I was put on diazepam on Friday and today I was lying in bed an hour after having one and feeling pretty happy and relaxed, when I started having an attack that lasted an hour.. Does it take long to recover when you are quite badly?

Thank you so much for your input, my life is in tatters right now because of this and being anxious about the anxiety is obviously not doing me any favours!

Anxiety can literally make you feel like you're dying. I've known two people have emergency admissions to hospital for similar, and both were eventually put down to a stress reaction. In my mum's case they thought she'd had a stroke at first.

I also have panic attacks, albeit that present differently, but can be in bed for days afterwards exhausted and in terrible pain.

Bombardier I think I know what you mean.. I feel wiped out after an attack, and the fact I am nauseous and can't eat most of the time means I lost almost a stone in the last month and I really have no energy left for anything.

Sorry for delay. I couldn’t believe anxiery could be that bad and for that reason I spent a good two years looking for an underlying health condition. anxiety can really be that bad. All of those symptoms you mentioned are what I have. I can have lightheadedness most days and a feeling of unreality. All of them are anxiety.

shiporsheep · 09/12/2018 20:42

And I have an exhaustion that comes with it. I need at least 10 hour sleep plus nap in afternoon. Please research and look after yourself. You must eat well to recover x

I had a lot of stress and the fact that I couldn’t accept anxiety made my recovery relatively long. The claire weekes book is brilliant as she talks about all the symptoms you mentioned. Some people, once they accept it is just anxiety and are able to deal with panic attacks can recover straightaway. I feel I am realigning myself after years of stress x

Ask them to check your thyroid hormones. Sounds like when I started with an overactive thyroid, with breathlessness, palpitations, gut problems and anxiety. It might just be anxiety though. Hope it goes soon.
