I posted a thread in chat but got no replies so trying here. I'm alrwady on mirtazipine. Have major issues with new meds due to allergies/side effects so I'm very anxious.

So what have you found it like?

Side effects? Good for anxiety? Good effects there?

OCDpanic · 22/10/2018 16:32

Is that the mirtazipine or the pregabalin? I know mirtazipine it's dangerous to miss or even be late taking.

I was on this briefly. It was briefly because I kept keeling over and felt like I was in fairy land, oh and I had a constant headache. It wasn't a good fit for me.

Pregabalin withdrawal is horrendous. Think of opiate withdrawal, then multiply it by 10. I take it for joint pain (600mg/day) and it takes the edge off. Some side effects aren't nice - fuzzy spaced-out feeling, involuntary muscle spasms and altered speech/swallowing problems being some I suffer.

Pregablin withdrawal is horrific. Spent days on a camp bed in the lounge with hot sweats. I also gained a load of weight whilst I was on it. My portions were smaller than my partners and I was eating a lot less at mealtimes, and I was always hungry. Raised it with GP who said it’s a common side effect. Started with 75mg but the GP kept upping the dose as my body was becoming used to it, and it was no longer working. Also you cannot miss a single dose, you have to take it same time every day, even taking it later caused sweating and shaking. Horrific time for my family, seeing me like that.

Terrible night sweats
Weight gain due to sleep eating...I'd literally raid the cupboards in the night and have no memory of it the next morning
Brain fog. I've never felt so slow and stupid

I didn't personally have any issues coming off it though, just stopped cold turkey. Felt slightly off for a day or two but it was a walk in the park compared to Venlafaxine withdrawal

No withdrawal symptoms here, 4 stones weight gain, and extreme irrational behaviour nearly had me arrested. So not worth it and never again.

I take pregabalin, mirtazapine and quetiapine.yes I do find the pregab to be helpful. But on its own I'm not sure. It works well in conjunction with my other medications.
