I am quite sure my DM suffers with this and my younger sibling lives with them

Dm refuses to accept it and is making my sibling feel like they are “crazy” or “making it up”. They won’t accept help and I don’t know what steps to take, I don’t live in the household anymore but sibling won’t leave as they’re the only other person left in the house

Does anyone have advice on how to help when DM won’t see a doctor? I’m really worried about my siblings mental health and quality of life as a result of this Sad

I think you can call the mental health crisis team OP but usually, that's done when there's a breakdown or extreme behaviour going on. Is it like that now? If so, your local GP surgery will be able to give you a number and then the team or a member of the team will arrive at your Mum's house and assess her. It can be arranged by you or your sibling.x

What makes you think she has schizophrenia?

As above you can call the crisis team who should give advice.

How old is your mum? And has she always been like this?

I ask because a diagnosis of schizophrenia in later life would be very very unusual. Especially in a woman.

People can have relatively isolated delusions or be a bit paranoid without having actual schizophrenia. And paranoia is something that can happen in the elderly. It may be a sign of dementia, but not always.

What makes you think she might be ill?
