Worried about anger

I have a toddler who is 27 months and. 3 month old baby. I find I get angry about things. I don't usually take it out on the kids but this morning my toddler got into my bed and when I tried to face the baby who was in the next to me the toddler wouldn't let me face the baby. She started crying I tried to comfort her to stop she cried even louder then j out my hand over her mouth and told her to be quiet. I haven't done this before I've always managed to keep my cool but this has really frightened me. This was at 4am and I haven't been able to sleep since.

Please don't panic. First off, if you recognise this anger as not being "you", that is your starting point. You can see it for the warning sign that it is that something is a bit off, and that is a huge credit to you.

You don't have to let a symptom of something outside of your control turn you into something that frightens you; make an appointment to see your GP and tell them that you're experiencing some uncharacteristic anger and they will be able to advise you. You don't have to try and deal with it on your own.

If you had a pain in your arm that was affecting your parenting you'd get it treated, wouldn't you? Don't feel that because this is emotional that it's any different; it's just a symptom that you don't have to master without help - that's what your GP is there for. It's really very common, you're really not even a little bit alone Smile

to you.
