They’ve been going on for about 6 morning this now.

Just come out of nowhere.

For context, I’m a teacher and I’ve had two horrendous years, awful classes, had chairs thrown at me, sworn at on a daily basis, by 9 year olds!

I also have 2. Chronic pain conditions and I just feel life is getting on top of me. They come on suddenly, feel like I can’t breathe. I’ll have to hide in my store, until they subside.

I might be driving and I’ll have to pull over until the attack subsides.

Is there any point bothering the GP with this, can they do anything?

Don’t know where to turn.

Life is so so hard.

Sorry for being indulgent.

Hi,
Yes absolutely go to gp.
Two years ago I was in your position and seeing the gp really helped me. She gave me some me a medication (beta blockers) to help with physical symptoms, not anti depressants. Got time off sick.
Ans also arranged CBT sessions with a therapist thru the NHS.
Also, go to www. No Panic.org.uk
Give them a call, they have a phone line
Or Mind (google them) , I called them both and got really good advice on what to do, some breathing techniques to help thru the panic episodes.

All the above plus slowing down my pace of life and starting to do stuff I always wanted to do have really helped.
But pls go to GP, if you are not convinced, get an appointment with a different GP, I tried 3 until I got one I felt understood me.

Good luck
X
