Hi,

I have been struggling with anxiety at the moment, my stomach is really uncomfortable, all the time and I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it feel better?

I can relate to this my stomach is in knots when my anxiety is bad. I find mine gets worse if I sit still so can you get outside for a bit and walk around even if it's just pottering in the garden. Also peppermint tea can help.

Thanks dancing, I have been sitting here whittling which doesn't help, I think I may have some peppermint tea somewhere (from a previous attempt at being healthy), will give it a go!

I just had a panic attack with similar symptoms

Can you follow a deep breathing or meditation video? And peppermint tea

The stomach is manifesting your anxious feelings but feelings pass and so will this! Try not to think about what is bothering you. Everything is bothering me right now, so NO thinking or ruminating Smile

Thanks AsleepAllDay, I am not good at making time for myself but think I might need to make more effort to help me relax, will check out YouTube for some guided meditation videos, thanks

I’ve had terrible anxiety in the past with affected my tummy.
Someone told me it means adrenaline is being released and that causes stomach ache. The best thing is to get rid of the adrenaline and doing some exercise is great for this. When things got really bad I’d put on my trainers and go for a very fast walk, or if you can’t get outside jog on the spot. It really worked well for me.

Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Thanks Lizzie, will give that a try too.

Definitely second the advice about exercise.

I started doing really quite serious exercising to try and get my blood pressure down and was amazed at the effect it had on my anxiety.

Don't jump off the sofa and start doing fifty minute workouts but gradually increasing your activity levels can't do you any harm and you will hopefully feel a lot of benefit.
