Hello. Am just having a shit day and keep thinking I have no idea who I am any more and keep having thoughts that everyone would be better off without me and that I could sh to get rid of this. What do you do on a crap day? Am thinking of signing up for big white wall. Or calling GP but don't want to go on ads as I find the side effects too much. Advice please. I know it will pass, but it's rough while it's happening.

Thank you. It's good just to write it and hear from someone tbh. I know it passes. BrewBiscuit

I haven't personally tried the big white wall. But I would recommend you ask for a referral for therapy or try to see a therapist privately. When I'm not feeling well. I try to do small things that will comfort me and distract me from suicidal feelings.

-Hot lavender tea.
-Scented candles.
-Lying in bed with a soft blanket.
-Audiobooks instead of reading or just watching a movie.
-Talking to someone.
-Going home if I need to so I'm not alone.

Thank you. I find being alone hard too, but it's at home that I am alone. Or looking after my children which I find quite lonely sometimes too. The small things are good. My DH is not generally supportive of my going to counselling, but I can self refer to iapt here so perhaps I'll try that. I sometimes think maybe I'm making it all up though.

At the end of the day pain is pain. How old are your children? Could you volunteer or meet up at any local groups to meet new people?

batmay · 24/05/2018 19:21

They are 9 and 5. I do volunteer, and work, so mostly I have things to do. But I get periods quite often when I get really low and feel very down on myself. I guess it's just how my brain works. It's been like that for a long time I think, I just never saw the pattern before.

Recognizing patterns is the first step to getting better. I still have down days but I've noticed more up days at the same time.

I hope you hear back soon. Did you sign up to white wall?
