I've been going to counselling for about 6 months now. It was initially weekly and now fortnightly because I'm doing a lot better.
This is the 4th time I've had counselling but the first time I really feel we've got to the root cause of my depression. I'm feeling more stable, in control and happier than I have in my entire adult life.
I feel like I won't need counselling for much longer, but I'm wary of stopping because it was too early the other times and lead to worse problems.
So how do you know it's the right time?
A complicating factor is that my husband has arranged flexible working with his company so I can go to my appointments while he is home with the children (I'm a SAHM) and this is due to end in soon, although there is possibly scope to extend it if necessary.
