Forgetfulness...genuine concern

Hi everyone,

I'm actually becoming really concerned about how forgetful I am!

I'm terrible. The other day I was meant to go and see a friend after work and I just completely forgot and drove straight home. I'm always forgetting little things. Can't remember names for the life of me. At work I struggle to remember all of the tasks. I have no mental health issues or medical issues. But this is becoming a growing concern. How can I be THAT forgetful??

Wasn't sure if this was the right place for this but I didn't know where else to put it.

What should I do? Should I be concerned?

I'm 29.

Do you have anything 'big' happening atm? Be it at work or home. Or even something that doesn't seem 'big' but could be distracting you? I had a very close bereavement recently & my memory has been truly terrible since (I'm 29 too).

If you're really worried a talk with a gp may put your mind at rest.

We are in the process of buying another house at the moment. I just don't understand how I can forget so much! I left my car at a pub overnight and DH took me home and I left my windows wide open all night!

I am actually having the same issue. I can't remember conversations or films that I have watched fairly recently. I am early 30s but I do take anti depressants and have wondered if it's linked to that. Sorry, not very helpful, but I am in a similar situation!

Hi again OP. Just found this article which was quite useful. Understanding the difference between 'normal' forgetfulness and when to be concerned: psychcentral.com/lib/when-to-worry-about-forgetfulness/

Though if you are in the process of buying a house, that is a major stressful event and could be linked as previous PP said.
