Hi everyone, I’m new here!

I have been suffering with healt anxiety for the past 6 months it’s ruining my life. Every week I find something new to worry about, this week it’s a spot on my collar bone and a spot on my scalp, I am at the doctors nearly every other week with problems that aren’t actual problems :( I will be calling the doctors once again tomorrow about said spots because it’s the only thing that relieves my fears for a while. I go cbt but tbh it’s not doing anything for me :( really wish it did but if I see physical things on my body I can’t help but instantly think I have a life threatening disease such as cancer primarily. I hate being like this and wish I could get better. Is anyone else going through this I would love to hear from you so I don’t feel so alone.

Hiya. Been there, done that - it's no fun is it. I would recommend when you go to the GP to say you would also like to discuss treatment options for your health anxiety. They may suggest medication, which I would strongly suggest you consider - it was what sorted out my health anxiety. Hugs

Thank you for your reply. I worry about taking medication I rarely take any type of medication for anything. I don’t want to spend a life time reliant on drugs. But then again I want to be a normal functioning person especially for my children and if medication will help me with that then so be it. How exactly does the medication work?

The medication will work on the chemical imbalance which is causing the anxiety. Doing that will get you into the head space where CBT will be more useful and effective. The combination of both if medically indicated gives you the best chance of the life you want.

GP’s are used to this. Your GP will be happy you have named the issue and asked for help.
Medication and CBT will help.
