Things to eat for when you are suffering

I am suffering a bit at the moment with low mood. One of the ways it's manifesting itself is with food. I find I can't be bothered to make proper meals so am just eating things like cereal and biscuits and then feeling I should eat properly. I'm at once repulsed by food but also keep eating. What I was hoping for was some ideas about easy, vaguely healthy things that I can cook that don't take a lot of effort or time. I would really appreciate any help as I cannot face any more eggs or toast or cereal

TIA

Can you throw together things you like that are healthy?

Obviously I don't know your preferences but I love prawns and avocado so would simply dump prawn cocktail in half an avo and then feel I'd actually eaten something good for me.

I struggle with eating when my mood is low too.

You could make rice and sweet and sour chicken. Micro rice (brown & quinoa or white/ other types) and with chicken (you could get a cooked chicken for ease or just fry up some already prepped chicken pieces/mini fillets) add a jar of uncle bens sweet and sour and bingo nice little lunch or dinner.
You could also buy fresh pasta as that only requires cooking time of a few minutes and have with tomato passata and add some tuna or meatballs. Or you could even just use a stir in worth the pasta as that's super quick and nice with alittle cheese grated on top and alittle salad at side.
You could cook jacket pots for lunch and bit sandwich fillers for the inside if you can't be bothered to faff on.
You could also make toasties (tuna melt, cheese, ham & tomato etc)

Stir fry is healthy and you could get them from the fresh section of Asda or Morrisons with the fresh noodles a sachet of sauce all the veg and some chicken and bung all in pan and takes minutes

Pasta pesto is a simple tasty meal, or even my old student staple of pasta mixed with baked beans.

If you find yourself back on the egg on toast though poach your eggs and add some raw or very lightly sautéed spinach. So totally different to a fried egg.

Hope you feel better soon xxx

Soup? Even those cartons of fresh stuff
Greek yoghurt with banana/berries/honey
Porridge
Wraps with salad and whatever else you like in it
Fruit to pick at - grapes, melon chunks
Apple with peanut butter

Some good suggestions here I was just coming to ask the same question. OP hope you’re doing ok. I’m in the midst of depression right now and really struggling with food as well. Last night I was hungry and thirsty but literally couldn’t think what I could cook and didn’t want to drink just water, nothing else in the house so I just didn’t eat or drink anything. Just lay on the sofa with the dog (managed to feed her thankfully!). When I’m well I’m a clean-eating cook-from-scratch vegan domestic goddess...... right now I’m just grazing on xmas chocolates at work all day (not even vegan ones) and perhaps eating toast and peanut butter at home or nothing.

This thread has inspired me I’m going to write things down from it and go to the supermarket to gather supplies for easy-to-make, doesn’t involve brainpower foods.
