PIP, Bipolar, and Money

I’m helping my friend fill in their PIP form. One of the questions I’m having difficulty is in spending money

They go on a high and spend money like it’s going out of fashion but when they are on a low their spending habits seem to change. My friend goes on a ‘spend nothing’ episode and I’m wondering if that’s them trying to pull back what they blew

Basically I’m wondering is there any obvious common behaviour as to how indivuals on a bipolar low treat their money. Is there any behaviour I should look out for. Something that may helping me in filling in the form

Your friend needs help from someone who has experience/ training in completing PIP forms. It may go to appeal, medical evidence is needed, go to the CAB or a disability rights charity and get some advice. You are doing a lovely thing helping a friend but it is important to get these forms right.

I went to CAB to have help filling my form in, they really know their stuff so worth bearing in mind.

Most definitely get some help/advice as PP said. It is also very important as to how often your friend has these episodes. I think it has to be more than 50% of the time.
Basically your friend needs help in making budgeting decisions whether it is only complex ones or simple is important. Please get an experienced adviser to help you both. It will be worth it. With fluctuating conditions it is difficult.
