Quetiapine and huge weight gain

Gained three stone in weight. Gone from size 6 (too skinny though) now a size 14. I'm starting to get used my different body shape but some days I feel so down. And it's not like the weight has plateaued. It's still creeping up. And I use my fitness pal and eat around 1500 calories a day. I did personal training twice a week. Nothing changes. I'm tempted to just sit on the sofa all day eating chocolate, doing fuck all.

I put on 20kg on olanzapine then another 10kg on quetiapine. Lost some weight through strict diet and exercise but now on clozapine and can feel it creeping back.

I've gained a load since I started it five years ago.
Recently tried to change medication to aripiprizole to try and get rid of the weight but I relapsed quickly and was really unwell. So back to the quietiapine it was.
Once I accepted I needed to take it for my mental health I decided to do something about my weight.
I joined weight watchers eight weeks ago and have lost over a stone in that time. Hopefully as I am losing weight sensibly I will keep it off.

It is so difficult. I lost over 28lbs in the last year but have had to increase my quetiapine dose recently and have already gained 6lbs in three weeks. I take it at night and find that I get up and eat while I am half asleep. That is if I can sleep - I've also developed horrible insomnia recently too.

Insomnia on quetiapine. Awful, its best feature is the sleeping.

I think all meds make us gain weight. I've recently joined slimming world and my consultant said she has a lot of members in the same boat who are trying to at least stay the same and not get bigger...
