Hi just need some advice my dad originally had a one to one with a psychiatrist, as he suffers with his metal health and has been on anti depressants for years which didn't help much. He had a rough time so went to the doctors and they changed his tablets and these helped massively as well as his one to one counciling. However he was only allocated so many appointments and they ended so he had been left for a while not seeing anyone. He's been in good spirits for the months he hasn't seen anyone. However he got a letter saying that he has to go to group sessions but he gets really stressed with speaking especially to people he doesn't know and was adamant he didn't want it, but he has to go. They said that he didn't have to talk to anyone just sit and listen. However since his first meeting he has been really stressed out and seeming to go back to his old ways a lot of anger building up. He's been to a meeting today and mentioned about getting angry and the lady said that he was on one to one my dad said yes but there was nothing else mentioned.
I asked my mum how he got on today, and she said he was ok and even managed to go into the shops with my mum which he doesn't normally do.
I'm just wondering what else would help . if there are any forums like this one that are for mental health. Or how would we be able to get him back on one to one sessions as well as maybe having the group sessions as well to help with the social side of things .

Yes theres a really good MH forum www.mentalhealthforum.net

Does he have CPN or care coordinator he could speak to about 1 to 1? Would a private 1 to 1 therapist be an option?
