Anxiety - GP

I am seeing my GP Thursday and want to discuss anxiety, stress & hair thinning.

I've struggled for a year with teeth grinding (stress related) but recently feel very anxious, on edge and am snappy.

I've never experienced this before, is it likely I will offered some time off work (signed off)? I don't want time off, but realistically I imagine it will help ease my anxiety levels.

Just wondered if I needed to ask, or if the dr usually offers it. Thanks.

When I went for the same thing they didn't offer me time off, no mention of it at all, and I hadn't slept for 48 hours at that point. I had to self certify for a week. If you want longer I think you would have to be blunt and ask the Doctor and discuss it. It might be that they suggest signing yourself off for a week and returning for a follow up appointment if you feel you need longer.
Good luck, hope you can start to feel better soon.

Hair thinning? Try to have your THS levels measured (thyroid) just in case. It could also come out as being stressed out and anxious, a side effect, sometimes as depression. As for the teeth grinding a dentist might help you with that.

Why are you anxious? Is there something stressful going on in your life, or at your job, perhaps with juggling impossible responsibilities, or trying to juggle an over-filled calendar, or is it more of internal stress?
