I was prescribed sertraline 3 months ago and I am petrified to take them in case they make me feel worse - any positive tips and stories will be very much appreciated!

It's changed my life. No side effects.

I take 150mgs now and feel so much better. I can occasionally feel sick after taking it, but taking it with food helps. It's absolutely allowed me to live a more fulfilling pife, and I can't see myself ever trying to come off it unless I want to get pregnant. Good luck, hope it works for you.

Obviously life, not pife. No idea what a pife is, or what a fulfilling one would look like...

Did you suffer with any sleep problems?

Were you taking sertraline for anxiety, depression or both?

Hi Clare from what I have heard each time you up the dose it can get worse before you feel better- hang in there- this too shall pass x

I've been taking it in various doses (up and down) for four years and it changed my life completely. It made the physical symptoms of my anxiety easier to handle so I could focus on my mental health and dealing with that. I felt a bit spaced out and tired for the first few days taking it but fine ever since. I always take mine at night so I'm sleeping through any side effects. I've found I get horrific headaches the next day if I take it on an empty stomach, so I take it with my dinner or evening snack. Good luck! X

I took it as was not sleeping or eating had very dark thoughts, like death of family members and feeling everyone close to me would die so I guess that was the depression, I also suffer from OCD and anxiety but it's under control now.

Did the sertraline help with your sleep? I was suffering with the insomnia before the sertraline and it's still a massive issue. I've been taking zopliclone but been told to stop that now. The lack of sleep is causing huge problems. I feel stuck in a vicious circle that I can't escape. Really really struggling

Ellieboolou27 · 11/01/2017 08:40

It did help yes, part of the reason I couldn't sleep was due to anxiety and it felt like my mind was never able to shut down, it did give me night sweats and made me very tired, also I had very vivid strange dreams

Hi guys,
Just wondering I started taking sertraline 9 days ago. In the beginning I felt ok just a little spaced out. After the 7th day taking I had had some weird intrusive thoughts so I stopped for two days then decided ok I need to try and ride these out. So now I’m back at day nine and still feeling weird anxiety and some nausea is a bit worse and feeling generally not great. will this subside or pass because it’s so hard to keep on this path knowing that I feel not great. Last nite was probably the hardest as I went from anxious to not and I feel a bit like Will all this subside or is this med just not for me?? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
🙈💖🤗

Been on them for years. Can’t function straight without them, definitely nothing to fear!

As for the weird thoughts etc, ride it out for a few more weeks. The spaced out feeling will definitely leave, has for me

Hi! I totally understand your fear—it’s completely normal to feel anxious before starting something new like Zoloft (Sertraline). I’ve been on Zoloft myself for quite a while now, and honestly, it works really well. The first couple of weeks were a bit tricky—mood swings, some mild nausea—but after that, everything settled and I started feeling a lot better without any major problems.

A couple of tips that helped me: take it at the same time every day, don’t skip doses, and give your body a little time to adjust. Also, it’s really important to use only high-quality Sertraline, because the effectiveness and safety can vary a lot with low-quality sources. Personally, I get mine from this pharmacy: 🔗gotap.click/zoloft, and the quality is excellent—I’ve been very happy with the results!

Remember, it’s okay to feel nervous, but many people do get great benefits once their body adjusts. You’ve got this! ❤️
