Hi all, former anxiety sufferer here and now unfortunately a relapsed depressive. I'm really struggling with agitation, irritation and anger at the moment... just struggling with everything from day to day life to parenting and so on Sad hate that I've fell back into this Sad just wondering how any fellow sufferers cope on a day to day basis? Finding myself more snappy than a crocodile at the moment SadBlushConfused

No worries unborn. I'm on Propanalol 80mg SR and Sertraline 100mg, both were prescribed for mild depression and severe anxiety. Not having a good day today, feel so tearful Sad

Thank you magic Flowers sorry to hear your struggling too Sad could I ask what intermittent depression is? I've not heard of that type before...

It's a chemical imbalance in the brain at the end of the day. I doubt it would be easy to parent with a physical ailment of the same severity either. I've been hospitalised and stuff in the past when changing meds and my parenting has never really been questioned.

Fruity I've been on 2 ad's and Propanalol at once although I've never actually tried sertraline I have a hospital friend who takes it with trazodone (i think).

As long as you don't mix 2 ssri's it's fine. With Propanalol just being a beta blocker you still have the option of adding another AD if things get too tough.

(Il just add I'm not a HCP just a long, long term patient)

Yes I guess so unborn, I just worry that the Sertraline is helping my anxiety along with my beta blocker and thus changing it may bring back my anxiety Confused gosh, I just wish I could be normal sometimes!

Fruity....
You are no less normal than someone who is left handed or who wears glasses or has diabetes or ginger hair...

Yes the majority of people are not prone to depression, but there are enough of us who are that it is vey much part and parcel of the human condition....

My friend had a T shirt that said.., "I don't suffer from mental health... I enjoy it!"

fruitysmoothie · 16/12/2016 16:53

Wow! Your friend sounds ace!

Sadly he died of a brain tumour..

It was not a pleasant experience watching him fall to bits. Like me he was (I still am) a manic depressive... I think Manic Depressive sounds far better than bi-polar which sounds to me like some form of Arctic expedition..

How are you coping at the moment?
Don't forget next Wednesday is St Lucie's.. the shortest day of the yearSmile

Nice one Itis

I hate having bi-polar...
It's Awesome.

Anyway wouldn't it be boring if we were all normal.

It's hard being a Mum and also suffering from an illness like depression. Take all the help you can get - and remember it does get better. Flowers
