Anti anxiety med that doesn't affect libido

Hello all
Suffering badly with health anxiety/anxiety at the moment. I'm plenty willing to take meds but last ones I took for depression (Prozac) wiped out my libido. I don't want that to happen again so was wondering if any mn knew of any anti anxiety meds that were less likely to affect it? Generally healthy and not taking any other meds.

I take a lowish dose of risperidone and my libido still works pretty well. Good luck.

Risperidone is an antipsychotic not anxiolytic in England it shouldn't really be initiated in primary care (Ie by GP) should be prescribed by a secondary care consultant and when patient is stable consideration can be given to a GP prescribing under what is called a shared care agreement.

Anxiety and depression can both really affect libido as unfortunately can most antidepressants/ anxiolytics they can deaden it , increase it and also make orgasm really really difficult. Try one of the others mention it to your doctor. I know this is not your case but , sertraline can help if orgasm is a problem.

When I've researched it, the medicine is used more as an anti psychotic but also for OCD. I do think my health anxiety may be OCD. Hmm.

I take agomelatine and that doesn't impact my libido - though my anxiety really can - indeed it has very few side effects. It was initially prescribed by my psychiatrist but is now managed by my GP. Many GPs seem not to have heard of it yet though as its a relatively new drug working on the melatonin system rather than being an SSRI or SNRI.

I will investigate! My libido has just returned to a regular pattern after a year on Prozac and four years being pg and bf, so I and dh are obviously keen not to disrupt libido if possible. Orgasming was an issue on Prozac as well. Thanks for input.

Agomelatine is non formula in my local area so cannot be prescribed.

I got it on prescription in London too. It was ace. Really helped even out my SAD type symptoms in the winter, in addition to the traditional antidepression effect. Also didn't affect libido, and it actually made orgasms more intense for me.
