I've been prescribed 10mg citilopram today for symptoms of depression and anxiety - related to huge stress at work and a traumatic bereavement.
Wondering best time to take it, took my first tab about 45mind ago and head feels a bit wierd, legs too.
Wondering if I should take it when I'm literally about to go to bed so hopefully I can sleep through the weirdness!
Any advice welcome ...

Hi everyone, there is some great advice and support on these threads, I've just been reading yours too, 43mumof, as I have the same feelings too, surrounding taking the ads. I finally mustered up the courage to see the gp today, after cancelling quite a few previous aopointments because I just didn't know what to say.

Anyway, prescription given for escitalopram 10mg, she said to start today.

I have yet to visit chemist to collect, cried in gps (the total shame I know) so I've had to come home to compose myself before venturing out again! Feel like such an idiot blubbering like that.

Will call thisafternoon though then face the next worry, actually taking it. Xx

Hi everyone,I also cried my eyes out at Drs a few weeks ago and couldn't stop once I'd started, felt I needed it though! Started10mg citilopram on 1st July so a few weeks in now, no side effects now that I'm aware of. Feeling low this week due to PMT ( not unusual for me) , was hoping the citalopram would help but doesn't seem to affect my pmt low mood. In the whole though it did seem to be helping, I felt able to step back a little, felt calmer and not so overwhelmed. Hang in there my dears,we'll get there! Smile
