Hi. been feeling like i'm hungover (no boozing, honest) since on the AD's. It's only been a few days and my head is thumping. I'm taking escitalopram. Is this normal? I know it does say on the leaflet these symptoms can occur but just wondered when it will settle down? Also, I feel slower in my movements and speech. coudn;t get my words out in college today when the tutor asked me a question.

What time of day do you take your ADs?

I found that taking mine at night helped with the nausea - I think it took a few weeks to settle down.

I take them first thing (well, after breakfast) 8ish. I don't want to take them at night because when I took the citalopram at night I couldn't sleep.

Hi Alexa
Keep going with them. I'm into week 3 of my citalopram (which I know didn't work out for you) and things are definitely starting to settle down now. I'm going out more and even the morning nausea is even starting to ebb away (which is a bit annoying because the nausea and lack of interest in food has resulted in about a stone weight loss and I'd really like to keep it off!). I don't know if you saw Paul Mckenna on GMTV last week but he was curing phobics. My problems are fairly mixed but there is a 'trance' on the GMTV website which I found rather soothing and may even have complemented the effects of the ADs. Just a thought. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I have noticed my appetite had decreased too. Must be the nauseus feeling.

Most days I have tried to eat something small like a handful of almonds or a satsuma or half a banana every few hours and would then try to eat a proper meal at tea time. I think low blood sugar from lack of food can make me worse!
