Is it like this everywhere?

I saw my psych last week and I told him I has tried to kill myself a few days prior to that.
He said that the crisis team or the hospital was not appropriate for me because they were full of people who were psychotic.
He did seem angry at the system.
Are all crisis teams/hospitals like this? It seems that even people who have tried to commit suicide can't be helped and are just left to their own devices because places that might be able to help are full and there's no room. Surely people will die like this? Am I just being naive? I was truly shocked when he told me that.

When I went to a&e I was told there is no free hospital beds, crisis team takes patients again on Monday(it was Friday) and psychiatrist was away. They could only give diazapam.
I was in a crisis for couple of weeks and did get very little support.

No support available at all in my area. I'm very lucky my parents paid for a private psych and saved my life. It's atrocious - people must be dying.

I was admitted to my local hospital after a suicide attempt. I only stayed one night but when I requested to go back in a few days later they had a bed for me. There was a lot of spare capacity when I went in but it filled up quickly. I think there's a lot of luck involved in whether you get admitted or not. But the criteria for admission are incredibly high and arbitrary now - people must be dying.
