Is that behaviour normal?

This is about DP and I'm not sure whether I'm seeing problems when there aren't any or if this is more serious.

This is what is happening.
We talk together, everything is fine. Then he seems to go back into his own world, starts talking but wo any sounds as you can see his lips moving, his face expression changes as he does just as if he was talking to someone/himself(?) but you can't hear a word. He is lost in his own world, no eyes contact or anything.
If I attract his attention, he will snap back to reality and say that everything is fine, yes he is OK, no he wasn't talking.

Now he used to numble a lot when under stress. But always when on his own and he doesn't think anyone is around/will hear.

This new behaviour has happened a few times now in public, think the underground, in a shop as we were queuing etc...
I'm really not sure what to make of that.

Any idea?

I often have conversations with people in my head and find myself changing facial expressions etc, sometimes without realising. I know that I do it though IYSWIM? How aware of it is your DH? Does he have any other symptoms (for want of a better word) that concern either of you?

Sorry DP not DH Blush

UndecidedNow · 22/02/2015 15:22

Oh I have cfonversations too!
But not in such public places. And I will answer if someone is talking to me. Whereas I really need to touch DP and speak to him repeatidily for him to notice.
It is a new behaviour too which is why I found it strange/unsettling.

What does he think about it all?

UndecidedNow · 22/02/2015 15:32

He refuses to acknowledge he is doing it....

can you film him doing it?

UndecidedNow · 22/02/2015 15:42

I probably could yes.
But I'm not sure I want to if this is just not serious at all.

Does it seem as though he's having a mild seizure?

MagpieCursedTea · 22/02/2015 16:03

I was wondering if it seemed like a absence/complex partial seizure. Didn't want to worry you OP as it may not be anything but it might be worth getting him to a doctor and explaining what happens.

Thank you. I'll have a look and see if I can convince DP to be checked out...
