Hi, I've been having some suicidal thoughts the last few days. I also seem to be having some symptoms of ptsd, especially when the dc touch me. It's getting very scary now and dh wants the to see my gp on Monday. What will she do? Will she refer me to the crisis team? Is it bad enough for that?(the thoughts I've been having seem fairly bad though) and if so, what could I expect from a crisis team?

You could be referred to the crisis team yes. Do you have a plan? They always want to know if you have a plan.

Crisis can provide face to face or phone contact to support you through the immediate crisis - they can also refer you into services. IME tey focus on distraction and keeping you safe.

Hopefully your GP understands mental health issues. Mine took an age to refer me - usually first it is to the Community Mental Health Team who will speak to you very soon to do a risk assessment and following that will see where you need to be. My crisis team explained it well to me - the CPN is for medium term whereas crisis team is to get you over immediate danger points. As cream said it depends on whether they are random thoughts or an actual plan with means and timings. Once you have been referred the crisis team are available by phone anyway if you need them. Good luck with your GP and hope you get things sorted.

Yes I have been planning things. I've spent quite a few hours researching things on the Internet.
Thing is, I'm kind of thinking what can my gp do and is there any point in telling her this? I'm sorry if I sound defeatist.

Your gp will do what you need. Researching is one thing - acquiring the means / planning where and when is another step. Talk to your gp - take her this thread if it helps. She will know what is best.
Don't worry about sounding defeatist - it is part of the illness.
