DD Suffering Extreme Anxiety, What To Do??

Hi, I've name changed to protect DD, but am a frequent poster.
DD, 26 witnessed somebody close having an epileptic fit 2 years ago and ever since has suffered terribly
It began with a 'health' type anxiety where she thought everyone who had a sniffle was dying and she became hospital phobic etc.
She had one to one treatment with a psychiatrist which is ongoing (paid privately)
For a good 8 months she seemed 'cured' but the last few months she has become unwell again.
She finds it very difficult to even go to the shops and has panic attacks. There are only a few friends she can spend time with, who she feels safe with.
It's so sad seeing a young woman acting like this and I'm at a loss of how to help her.
Has anyone any idea how I can help her? Or been through this type of thing?
She is on tablets for ADHD and is very reluctant to take anything else.
Sorry it's so long! Thankyou for reading.

Has she looked at 'mindfulness' ? It's not a cure but teaches how to control anxiety using different mind techniques and distraction, there is a book you can buy on Amazon ( can't remember what it's called but has been recommended on the mental health pages ).

I suffer from health anxiety and have a phobia of vomiting, like your daughter I experienced a friend having a seizure whilst we were out alone, it's quite a scary thing when you have to try and care for a friend and you have no idea what's happening Sad.

Some people say CBT is great but I didn't find it very helpful, it seems to work for some and not for others.

Thanks endler not heard of 'mindfulness' I will try and look for the book for her.
CBT seemed to work for her for a while but now the anxiety is back with a vengeance.
It all seems so complex to me Sad as an outsider looking in.

I hope you find something that works for her, I have seen seal therapists and even went private, my last therapist told me 'I won't cure the anxiety but there are ways to control it', this helped me a lot as I spent so long looking for a cure instead of focusing on control, I still get very anxious but I can now calm myself down enough to think rationally and cope with the anxiety. Anxiety is horrid, it's one of the worse feelings I have experienced, it makes you want to shut yourself away, makes you shake and makes your chest feel like it's being squeezed, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

You have described DD to a tee.
she has another GP app in a few weeks but not sure what else they can do tbh.
