How long do electric shocks last when coming off sertraline?

And how best to deal with it?!

It's driving me nuts. I seem very light headed and often cold.

I've other health stuff going on too at the mo so it could be part of that.

I've taken it very slowly - dropped every 2-3 weeks, latterly even crushed / halved a half (so 12.5!) now of day 2 of zilch.

This last bit is the worst Hmm.

Every time I breathe deeply or move sometimes.

I had to have a liquid to come off seroxat in the late 90's.

(God I'm old)

I had 22 days at 20mg and couldn't cope with the side effects so asked GP to take me off them. She told me 10mg for 5 days then stop them. I was suicidal last night and shit scared. I've never felt like that.

Please please please contact your out of hours gp or a and e. I remember feeling very low too but a friend recently told me she has a friend to committed suicide due to the withdrawl effects of seroxat. I think you need to tailor much more slowly and possibly need much better guidance/ a different drug. At the least please try to speak to a pharmacist about what to do.

Seroxat is a very difficult drug, I'm sorry you're in its grip.

You can and will come off it but it must be done slowly and carefully.

I was also given slow release beta blockers to help with the electric shocks when coming off seroxat but I wonder if they helped with the side effects too, this might be an additional option but please speak to a gp.

I'm still here and doing OK. I have the GP tomorrow. Thankfully have had no more thoughts of harming myself. The electric shock/brain zaps are still there, I feel sick all the time, dizzy and agitated. I wish I had never taken a single dose of this stuff.

It's nasty stuff, list all your symptoms to gp, maybe write them down and hand over. I hope it eases soon for you.
