MH crisis at Christmas

I've tried to call the ooh crisis team but there is just a recorded message saying they are closed for the Christmas period. It doesn't say when that is until though.

Anyone with more knowledge of this stuff than me have any suggestions of who else to speak to or how stuff like that works in your area. This is all new to me, so haven't any experience to draw upon.

I've text the Samaritians but can't put words into a logical enough order to ring them.

That's a good plan. You take care and let us know you are ok if you feel up to it. Thinking of you.

Millie2013 · 25/12/2014 21:46

Another one thinking of you, MH crises are shit at the best of times, when there is limited help available, they are even worse
Do you have support in real life?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/12/2014 21:53

Thank you so much for the support.
I was in hospital in the autumn following an od and I lost my best friend through that happening. She isn't able to forgive me.
I have great rl professional support - private therapist 2x week, and psychiatrist and a rape counsellor.
I've been dipping, mh wise for about a week, and it's getting to be more and more of a struggle to cope, added to which the things I normally do, people I see are not there because of Christmas. I've also been at work until this morning so exhausted too!

Caulk, I'm here too. Don't worry, I'm also in your usual place.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 25/12/2014 21:58

Thank you so much for all the support. I really really appreciate it.

caulk I hope you are ok.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 26/12/2014 11:14

Morning. Thank you for posting, it's really kind.

I'm ok, still ridiculously wobbly/tearful but I'm just trying to take one hour at a time, and I'm much calmer than I was last night. I spoke to the Samaritans and they were lovely as always, even though I couldn't string a sentence together.
I'm wavering over whether to go to the walk in centre to get my cuts dressed, but I really hate doing that, and feeling so useless, it's a sort of last option.
I'm going to go for a walk, fresh air is always good, isn't it.

I'm glad the Samaritans were helpful. An hour at a time is a good place to start.
A walk would be good if you feel up to it. Don't be down on yourself if you don't go though.
I would say get your cuts dressed, it'll help keep them from getting infected/heal better but I understand what you've said. Think about going though because you won't be wasting anyone's time.
Thank you for replying. I've been thinking about you. Flowers

CaulkheadUpNorth · 26/12/2014 12:19

Thank you for thinking and posting, it's really kind and I appreciate it. In this hour I've got dressed and done hair, and now I'm building myself up ready for the walk in place and a walk.
Hope yours having a good day Smile

Well done. You've got a lot done in your hour.
I'm having a peaceful day thank you. My two DS are playing and I'm just contemplating doing lunch. My DH is home which always helps with my anxiety. (He works away mon-fri)

Pop back again if you want to. If you want peace I understand.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 26/12/2014 12:32

I'll come round for lunch if that's ok.

MrsPepperMintonCandyCane · 26/12/2014 12:38

You would be more than welcome. It's crazy left overs and buffet bits lunch Smile

CaulkheadUpNorth · 26/12/2014 14:15

I hope lunch was nice. Just been to the walk in centre. It's in the student area, by the uni, and is usually really busy but wasn't today thankfully. I was concerned about how dizzy the new medication was making me, and because I'm going away tomorrow and wasn't sure what the Grand Plan was when you're crisis-y but in another city.

Now sleeting and not fun for a walk.

I'm glad you got to the walk-in centre. Take good care.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 26/12/2014 14:32

It took 24 hours of courage to do it, and I still feel basically the same, but I know I've done the right thing, if that makes sense.

Well done Caulk
Lunch was nice thank you. It's a bit sleety here (other side of city). I hope you are going somewhere nice tomorrow?
