Any other sufferers out there? Any tips for coping? xx

Self care - get enough sleep and some exercise, eat healthy, spend time with friends and family who build you up, avoid negative people. Dysthymia can be as debilitating as major depression and it's so insidious... you keep thinking that you're just not trying hard enough. Also get professional help, counselling can be very beneficial and sometimes meds are indicated.

Thank you, Lastinglight, you sometimes feel like a fraud, don't you? I'm thinking of starting a diary, but I'm only allowed to write down positive things that have happened in my day. Hard to avoid negative people when you work in a secondary school though!! Thanks for your reply xx

Focusing on the positive is always a good thing. However I find that when I'm depressed I can list things I am grateful for, and then I feel worse because I still feel depressed.
