I am cutting my meds down in order to ttc. I have bipolar one I was taking 20 olanzapine 800mg sodium valproate 200mg sertraline and 2mg clonazepam.

I have cut down to just 15mg olanzapine. No sertraline and no sodium valproate I am remaining stable. However I am finding that I get very anxious at night and I am having a hard time dropping clonazepam.

So I am wondering is there a benzodiazapine that is considered safe in pg?

I don't know, sorry but you might be able to get a referral to a perinatal psychiatrist? I hope it all goes well.

Ask your Dr to speak to the local hospital pharmacist, who will review the current guidelines and papers on the subject, and let you know/review the evidence for yourself.
Its terribly difficult, I went through pregnancy on lithium (and the twins are fine, healthy girls), but all people will tell you is that its a balance of risks. You are doing amazingly well to have cut down as much as you have, my advice is don't push yourself too much, YOU need to stay well.
A quick google seems to say that diazepam or chlordiazepoxide ( www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11773648 here)are the best, but don't take my word for it.

Thank you very much I will look into those meds. Worst case I think I could lose the benzodiazepine.

Benzos are really really addictive and coming off them can be quite dangerous, so do it really slowly under Dr supervision.

Have you tried taking magnesium at night? I found that it completely destroyed my crippling anxiety. If you try it DON't buy oxide as it is useless. You need either malate or glycinate which are the most bio-available forms. Good luck with your pregnancy.

agree talk to psychitrist. sertraline is often prescribed in pregnancy.

Talk to your psychiatrist.
For later reference, if you are planning on breastfeeding, Setraline is the drug of choice at that point.
