Sertraline or kalms?

I have been prescribed sertraline for anxiety, however, I am worried about taking them due to the side effects and don't want to feel worse.
My friend sufferers from anxiety and is taking kalms (the one you take twice a day) which she said has helped.
I'm unsure if kalms will do anything to be honest and just wondered if anybody had any experience with either medication.
Thank you.

If your GP has prescribed sertraline then she/he thinks you'll benefit from it. I don't know much about Kalms, but if they're the over the counter thing I'm thinking of they aren't likely to be as useful to you.

I assume Kalms is an over the counter remedy. If your anxiety is severe enough that your gp prescribed Setraline then I think Kalms is unlikely to help. Side effects from psychiatric meds are not compulsory, some people don't get them. Smile Try it.

I had no side effects with Sertraline other than nausea which lasted a few days.

It takes a good few weeks even months to settle with AD's

Kalms are SHIT!

Anxiety also respond well to talk therapy such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and that has no side effects!

Stay positive & believe they will work, I found that helped.

Anxiety is a bitch. It made me totally irrational, coupled with PND etc .. I was a mess.

Sertraline helped get my head above water & on the path to normality.

Let us know how you're getting on & if you have a shit day, come by this way! Grin

Thank you journeySmile

Lasting, I've tried everything but I am also doing CBT. Medication was a last resort after years of anxiety.

Mind you .... I will tell you, I did have one of the side effects of the shits for days!!! But it's so short lived for the long term good effect it's worth it.

How you feeling? It did take me at least a month to get on with them. Some people feel huge benefits within 2 weeks.

The only thing I find that really doesn't agree with me whilst on Sertraline is alcohol which is not recommended anyway. Also, alcohol increases my anxiety 10 fold, has the opposite effect to most people!!

Hope you're ok Smile and be brave to say if they are not working out for you then go back to GP.

CBT is also excellent! You sound very much on the path to peace ... well as peaceful as life can really be! Grin

Oh no! Feel unwell today, faint, nausea, headache but that's not uncommon for me so may not be due to medication.

Day 6 tomorrow!!

It will pass Smile
You need to ride it out (easy to say, huh!), it's important you do not stop taking it now. It takes about two weeks to see a positive result.

Yep agreed! Ride the wave :)) x
