See a psychiatrist if you can

If you think you might have a crisis but not there yet get health insurance if you can. The reason is that I have experienced multiple depressive episodes and have experienced different GPs, Psychiatric hospitals and the like. It wasn't until I was fortunate to have health insurance via my husband that I saw a proper Consultant Psychiatrist at "leading private hospital" that was able to find the right drug combination to make me better! Even if you can't get insurance £175 for an appointment might be money well spent. You may need a couple of visits for a proper diagnose and treatment plan though. NHS just does not have the proper resources or is patchy.

Agree. I have spent wasted years feeling depressed. No one in the NHS really took me seriously I think until I found the energy and confidence to get those meds increased to a sufficient level. This could have been done years ago if any one in the NHS had given a shit!

The NHS is overwhelmed with referrals and given less spend than other areas of illness.

There's a article in the Independent about people attempting suicide while they are waiting for help.

A good counsellor is also crucial to tackling anxiety / depression and you can wait a year for one on the Nhs !
