How do you feel the next day after a night of panic attacks and hardly any sleep.

Yesterday evening a few hours before I went to bed, I couldn't remember what I was doing before I went to the loo, it was only about 5 seconds before I remembered but in those 5 seconds I had a little panic, not much but enough to unsettle me a little, when this happens (and its not happened for many years) my night pretty much follows the same pattern, I get to sleep relatively easy, only to wake up half an hour later in full blown panic mode, managed to calm myself down by putting the telly on, but every time I closed my eyes to sleep, my mind was not right and on nights like this, I get up as to not disturb by dh and go and sleep on the sofa, (well I lay and watch telly before I fall asleep)

This morning I feel totally drained, feel as thought I am on auto pilot and my head is a little dizzy/fussy.

Like i said before its my first episode like this in many years and wandered under similar circumstances how do you feel the next day, just to stop me panicking about how I feel this morning and could it be something else, which I think deep down I know its not.

Thanks for anyone who takes the time to reply. x

I get sort of brain dead the next day, clumsy, forgetful, at best sort of muddling through the day aimlessly. I used to try and fight it but that makes me feel even worse and is more likely to set me off again. Now I just write the next day off as much as possible and aim for a good day the following day instead. It kind of takes the pressure off because if you're not trying to fight it you can't loose if that makes sense and it gives you time to get a decent nights sleep following night and be in a much better position to move on. I'm not saying you should curl up in a ball under the duvet, just do the bare minimum of whatever work/family needs of you and be ready to get back on track the following day

Thanks you both for the reply.

Slept better and feel a little more with it, still a little like a zombie (good way of explaining it)
