How do you get the powers of be to listen.
I'm on waiting list with let's talk. I cant afford to call the samaritans.

maybe if I just did something crazy to make people realise that I just need to talk so I can move forward.

I know its bad but its bubbling away and its going to burst soon.

You can email the samaritans [email protected]

Also, some of their centres do face to face - might be worth checking here

Doing something crazy isn't the answer, you could go back to your gp and say that you are feeling how you are?

sorry to hear that, its a shit situation to be in. The nhs is really stretched to its limits at the moment, the government cuts havent helped obviously! and this is the devastating consequences. Please dont hurt yourself to prove a point, chances are it will only make your situation worse in the long run. I would second the advice of the first replier and say go back to the gp and tell them how you feel and how close you are to breaking point. Are you on any medication? They usually like to dole that out while they wait for counselling appointments to become available. Have you got support at home through family or friends? Its really worth opening up to someone if you can, especially if there are practitcle things they can do to help, such as help with chilcare and give you some space and a break. I know its not a solution long term, but just to get you through until youve ha a chance to talk to someone proffessional.

I was at the drs yesterday. They have changed my medication. I was on 40mg citalopram now I am on 200mg lustral plus I have diazepam for back up.

I have family but dont feel I can be open with them. I don't have any friends just my partner and to be fair there is only so much he can listen too.

It is free to phone , email, text the Samaritans if that helps.

Appletini · 26/04/2014 15:48

You can call Samaritans free on 116123. I believe they also phone people back if asked.

I'm sorry you're feeling so low. Please do call them.
