good MH services in North East, North West, Edinburgh, Glasgow - what are they like?

We are thinking of a move back to the UK at some point. Currently receiving amazing care from my team where I live in Europe and although we are struggling here in other ways, the healthcare I receive is a big factor in making us hesitant about moving.

Making sure I have access to good MH services is important (I have bipolar and BPD traits, the latter of which I hope to have finished treatment for by summer). So I wanted to do a bit of research before moving back as I know it is very hit and miss depending on where you live.

Where I was in London a few years ago was superb although I didn't fully access services as I moved. I have faith in the NHS :) but want to check things out as much as possible beforehand as going into a backwards slide is something I want to avoid for all my family.

Is there somewhere that I could find out information on services available and ratings across the country, and what are your experiences in the above area?

Our living preference is to start in Scotland, Edinburgh or Glasgow, or possibly Northumberland area or Cumbria (so above Manchester, Liverpool, Hull basically). My family is from Scotland and I have always wanted to try living there. I don't cope well with crowds of people so the idea of some space is appealing!

Any ideas welcome, thank you :)

I'm in Dundee, where things are reasonably good. I have a lot of support, there's a good, big teaching hospital. I have a CPN and great pdoc. The Acute Response Team is responsive, although there's an ever-shrinking number of beds. I've looked around the psych hospital and it's modern with private en-suite rooms. I'm not sure, however, whether that equates to what you're used to at the moment. MH services are stretched everywhere, but my sense is that things are better here than in Aberdeen or Fife, for example. Housing here is affordable. However, the job market is crap, unless you can work in the oil industry or the university.

Nek you for this. Don't think either is an option as dh needs to be near Edinburgh or Glasgow
My plan is to get things to the stage where I only need to see a psychiatrist every three months of so :) then move so I don't need to rely on services so often!
