Sertraline and driving?

Just started on 50mg sertraline and wondering how anyone else gets on driving? The information on the packet says that my reactions could be impaired. I do feel a little spacey but I'm only 10 days in and wondered if this is a side effect which might improve? Driving and actually getting out of the house has been a main factor in needing to start taking AD's so I was hoping to feel more able to get out and about Confused

Zombie has been on Sertraline since mid-May. The first few weeks were strange but it then settled down. Give it a bit longer. You should find it starts to make a very positive difference in another couple of weeks.

Zombie's GP also told her that it takes about 3 months to reach the plateau of greatest effectiveness. Her personal experience corroborates that.

Best of luck.

Hello Dharma I have not long started on Sertraline (6 wks I think) - had SEs as you describe (plus nausea) for about 10 days and felt fine thereafter. I am feeling great now, so so so much better it has helped me enormously. I know SEs can vary in length and severity, maybe review with your GP if they haven't improved in a few more days? As you say it is counterproductive if you're not able to go out as a result.

Sorry X posted with Zombie who gave a much more technical and wise answer Smile

That's really good to know. Really hoping the anxiety abates soon then
