I phoned crisis to say I feel suicidal and they did nothing so I ended up self harming instead. I feel so lost empty and desolatate I just want to cut.

Sad

By crisis do you mean a charity or do you mean cmht? Sorry, I dont know all the terms.

Do you want to talk about what is wrong?

SnowyMouse · 06/12/2013 20:43

Sad (((( selfdestructivelady )))) Do any of the distraction techniques like squeezing ice cubes/drawing on yourself with red pen/flicking an elastic band on your wrist help?

pertempsnooo · 06/12/2013 20:46

Call your mental health team

Golddigger · 06/12/2013 21:05

I am concerned about you.

HoopHopes · 06/12/2013 23:04

Are you under a mental health team? If so can you talk to your usual worker on Monday or leave a message for them. They have duty workers on Monday to Friday to talk to.

Many crisis teams only take people on their books ( ie support them rather than give general advice over phone) if their mental health worker or a gp has referred them to the crisis team. A few patients have direct access according to their care plans but not many ( otherwise they would be inundated) - so maybe that is what happened? They could not help you because your worker or gp had not out you under them?? Although when under them it is a visit or call every day or few days, different workers each time and no talking therapy as they do not know the patients so not everyone find them helpful.

You can phone Samaritans. Or phone 111 and ask to have an appointment at out of hours gp service this weekend? Or go t minor injuries unit or a walk in centre for treatment.

DearPrudence · 06/12/2013 23:11

If this is the crisis team assigned to you, then please phone them again and tell them what's happened. Or do what Hoop says above.
Sorry you're feeling so bad. It's tough to get proper help - do you have someone in real life fighting your corner?

selfdestructivelady · 07/12/2013 09:04

Thank you I will do as hoops suggests and call 111 for out of hours.

Hi, did you get an appointment? Out of hours are on all weekend.

selfdestructivelady · 09/12/2013 10:07

Good. Very good.

SilverStars · 09/12/2013 13:00

Glad you got the appointment. It is only when a gp or Cpn refers you to the crisis team that they are allowed to help ( apart from a few patients who have direct access but that is rare for obvious reasons), so glad they could help you this time ( compared to when you rang them yourself).

Crisis can be helpful, you speak or see different people each time generally and then when you are no longer in crisis they can refer you back to whoever was caring for you (gp, a Cpn, other services) and they write to them to tell them their involvement.
