I was reading the emetaphobe thread.

I have emetaphobia, but it isn't as bad as it used to be as I have forced myself to stay in the house/room when one of my family is vomiting.

I have a terrible fear of dog poo on the pavement - ironically, I have three dogs and work as a dog walker. It's a fear of stepping in it, particularly if it has been there for a while.

Ugh - getting squeamish and panicky just thinking of it :(

There is a problem with my medication, which might have caused my anxiety. I hope so. It is tiring to feel anxious every time I go out.

Herlock my DP has sensory issues, he reacted the same to a toothbrush advert the other night!

He also cuts all labels out of clothes, will only wear certain materials and will actually leave the house when one of my friends is due over because she has a particularly high pitched laugh that he can't listen to. Certain sounds make him cover his ears or just run for it.

The only time I've come across anything similar is with kids with ASD I've worked with.

He is mortified when he reacts in front of people but can't seem to stop himself. If you work out how to deal with it, shout!

I have a bizarre fear/phobia of bridges! It can be as small as walking across a plank that's a few inches off the ground - I'd prefer to jump over whatever it is I have to cross!

It's quite bad if I'm driving as I hold my breath if I have to go over a bridge (it has to be a motorway bridge or really wide bridge) and sometimes i can get really light headed! Which doesn't help the shaky, sweaty mess I get into beforehand!

I have a fear of dripping taps, if i see one i have a full blown panic attack, if theres one in the house i can't sleep.

It started 15 years ago when i had PND and severe stress, which seemed to materialize into this fear. I've even moved out of and sold a house because of dripping taps (yes, a plumber changed the washer many times)

The whole thing is illogical,i have isolaters on the pipes, i know where the stopcock is in the house, i even know where the tap is out in the road, i can control it, yet i go hot and almost pass out if i think any taps dripping, if i think i hear something dripping in the night, i have to get up and check.Sad

.. rant over Smile
