I've just been reading hesneezes post and i'm wondering if ADs would help me as i seem to have similar problems to her. I keep dwelling on past rows and feel i have to test dh to see if he will react and then upset if he does. The constant talking about past rows because i'm scare of it happening again then actually causes another one - vicious circle! Contantly worrying and having troubling sleeping because of it. Think very negatively and the slightest thing causes me to get in a state. Would AD's help? Whe i did the edinburgh test a few wks ago i got 11, althoug if i'd answered realistically it would have been closer to 13

I have taken st johns wort and think it was quite helpful- it's a front line treatment for depression in germany, apparently, and not considered 'alternative'. Might be worth a try. Although my relationship issues are not the same as yours, I know what its like to be trapped in a negative cycle of behaviour towards one another. Good luck- you're not alone.

sorry you are going through this. Something else that might help is Omega 3 - i have been taking this as I have Ante natal depression which shows itself as being constantly angry and very anxious.

If you are considering AD's it might be worth talking to your GP or do you have a Health Visitor you could talk to? They may be able to refer you to the local CPN and their support?

Take care x

Hi dont know if you want to try 5-HTP its been talked about recently and contains fish oils like what meandmyboy is talking about. I havent tried these as I am on ads just now. AD's are good if you find the right ones but sometimes it takes a long time and there are side effects. I have done cognitive Behavioural therapy which is great for the vicious cycle of negativity, unfortunatley I was too ill at the time to take it in. The testing is a sign of low self esteem and CBT helps really well with buiding your confidence up if you are willing. Try asking you HV if there is a local group, mine now meet up every two weeks months after it finished and they are a great support. Talk to your GP and HV as they will have lots of options open for you and GOOD LUCK
