I think il persevere a few more days. I've never been depressed but mon/Tuesday I hit rock bottom. Then spoke to doc yesterday (I initially rang for a sick note) he says to swap but once I had spoken to him I did feel much better and didn't cry at all was more relaxed last night had a full night sleep. And thought I wonder if these tablets r starting to do somthing. Mind I say I've never been depressed n I don't ever wanna b after feeling like that.

My daughter has been on it twice, and apart from dry mouth and a little nausea she has been fine. Good luck

I am on 20mg alternate days. Dr allowed me 2 weeks of sleeping tablets which she has told me I now have to come off.
Did not sleep last night and feel rough today.
A bit giddy and keep going really hot.
When does the insomnia stop please?

conquita · 25/10/2013 11:33

I suffered with insomnia for a couple of months. It was awful, I had the worst anxiety at night too. But now I feel amazing.

NewName123 · 26/10/2013 09:02

Managed to get some sleep last night. Feeling hot and sweaty though, tired and out of it. Thought I was feeling better but not sure now.
Got a cold too

conquita · 26/10/2013 11:07

How come you take it alternate days and not every day? I was on 10mg originally and increased to 20mg, I used to half a tablet every day and now I take a full one. I have to say this drug has changed my life and I don't mind taking it for the rest of my life as I used to suffer from chronic anxiety. I was on cympbalta two years ago but weaned myself of it thinking I was better. I wasn't. This is better than cymbalta, which I think might be the same as citropram.

NewName123 · 26/10/2013 14:27

lsast time I tried it, it gave me bad side effects and I came off it in the first few days. Felt very agitated and couldn't sleep. Wanted to give it another go so GP said every other day and 2 weeks of sleeping tabs.
Mine are capsules so can't break them in half, also has a long half life so is one of the medications you can do this with.

Hi is it okay to gatecrash?

I've been prescribed Prozac tonight for OCD & anxiety. What do I need to know about it? Does everyone get side effects? They worry me the most as I have 2 DD's aged 8 & 2. I'm on painkillers as have joint ishoos and am on omeprazole to protect my stomach already due to the painkillers.

Any advice would be great thanks.

NewName123 · 29/10/2013 08:43

Hi Queen. Think you have to suck it and see so to speak. Don't forget if the side effects are too much you can always stop and try something else.
My side effects have been fairly mild to be honest. I am sleeping OK which is the thing I worry about most. I am going to increase to one a day in another week.

QueenofClean · 29/10/2013 08:56

Hi Newname - thanks for replying. I took my first one this morning. Panicking slightly but part of my head is telling me it can't be any worse than the insomnia and nausea I already have. I woke up this morning after sleeping on and off...I have a joint & back ishoo which doesn't help and DD2 woke at 5 so feel exhausted already :(

teawomen · 29/10/2013 09:18

Hi queen. I didn't have very pleasant side effects and have since swapped to another tablet. However a lot of ppl swear by fluoxetine. Good luck xx

Thank you Teawoman. Hopefully your new tablets will work better for her x

QueenofClean · 30/10/2013 11:52

2nd day of taking it and feel so tired. I slept ok last night but like I was in such a deep sleep that have only been asleep for like 5 mins when I wake and now exhausted. :(

NewName123 · 31/10/2013 08:36

Hi Queen, it's awful when you don't sleep isn't it? I took a sleeping tab last night to knock me out. My side effects have about gone now I think except a bit of jaw clenching which I used to do any way. Am going to increase to one a day starting Monday so wonder if side effects will increase again.
Hope your day is ok today. Not sure how I am going to fill the day but we will see x

QueenofClean · 31/10/2013 09:20

New name, thanks for replying.

I still feel tired but better than yesterday. I'm on my 3rd day now and don't think I've got any other side effects except tiredness. I think as I take other meds and have taken Amitriptyline before my brain is sorta used to new things iykwim.

Hope you have a better day today. My eldest daughter has gone to Grandmas for the day as it's half term here and my youngest goes to nursery for 11:50. So day to myself from then Smile

NewName123 · 31/10/2013 14:14

Oh nice one you can get some rest then! Am crawling through the half term, roll on Monday!

QueenofClean · 31/10/2013 14:55

Back at the dr surgery as having a coil fitted ouch

NewName123 · 31/10/2013 17:52

QueenofClean · 31/10/2013 18:00

Hurt being put in...but am okay now no cramps so that's good. My docs prescription afterwards was oh home eat chocolate, drink wine and rest Grin love my GP.

DH has taken my girls out trick or treating and only had the dr knocked twice so far.

QueenofClean · 01/11/2013 08:48

Day 4 and feel good this morning, slightly tired but much better than earlier in the week. No nausea or anything, so that's good right?

NewName123 · 01/11/2013 09:14

sounds good Queen, has your coil got hormones in it? (Marena) be aware that this can affect your mood.
Feel a constant internal tension at the moment. Not sure if this is just being tired and it being half term. I have an annoying cough at the moment too.
Hoping it's not the tablets. Slept quite well and increasing to one a day now so fingers crossed.x

QueenofClean · 01/11/2013 09:20

New - It has got low level hormone in it. I can't have any other form of contraception except a copper coil, but I need to have the Mirena as I want a hysterectomy and our local NHS trust critera states I need to have tried the Mirena first.

It sounds like tiredness and stress of half term. FX the tablets work well for you.

NewName123 · 01/11/2013 14:03

I had Marena for a while and it worked well for me. Had no periods after a while. Feel like I want a lie down in a darkened room. Keep needing to do deep breathing as feel stressed out. Just want to be alone at the moment.
