Hi, I'm new to the site and was interested to see if anyone shared similar emotions to me and how you cope. I work 4 days a week in a really busy school setting so I look forward to my day off to catch up with things. The trouble is, that day comes and I can't find the motivation to do anything! The house is too quiet and I find myself going back to bed after school run or watching telly and eating rubbish. Hate this feeling of worthlessness and feel lonely and depressed. Please help!

Are you sure you don't just need the down time? Maybe if you give yourself permission to slob around a bit knowing you've worked really hard, it will be easier. Then if you do get anything done, it's a bonus. And if you don't, at least you've had a nice relax and have enjoyed it rather than feeling guilty. I do this with myself. I give myself permission to not do anything, then some motivation comes up from somewhere and I get a few jobs done! But I'm contrary, me!

Failing that, lists are good! A few jobs on there, also list things like breakfast, bath, reading a book. Feels good to tick them off and you are still looking after yourself.

My therapist suggested a done list, it changed my life, seriously

rather than writing a to do list, every night before I go to bed, I write a list of everything I achieved that day. Makes you feel so much better.

Also I find myself doing things, just so I can put them on the done list, rather than "whats the point in ticking something off the to do list it will still be huge!"
