If so, what did you think about the Dr who described it as the brain not working properly?
I'm interested as when I suffered with it in my twenties, it wasn't like he described at all - I didn't think I was fat, I just could not eat.
Is this a secondary sort of anorexia? I went down to about 6 stone (I'm 5ft7) and it went on for around 4 years. I still have issues now.
To me it was much more psychological than physiological. I kind of resent the way he was saying it like it was a chemical problem, something wrong with the brain - I find it frightening on behalf of other sufferers too, because that way of thinking dismisses a HUGE swathe of thinking to do with the actual causes and treatments.
It also implies that people could be controlled and cured through drugs alone I suppose and the idea of being forced to take drugs to make your brain work properly, in the grip of AN, to me is terrifying.
Any thoughts? (when MN starts loading pages again!)
