It's that time of year again were everything feels like a huge effort, even the smallest task feels like climbing a mountain.
The motivation that I have through the warmer months disappears and I'm looking for ways to make myself feel better.

I'm tired all the time, don't want to get up in the morning, I want to hibernate.

I've just been looking at light boxes but they are quite expensive but I see that you can buy daylight bulbs, would these work in the same way?

we tried daylight bulbs but they didn't work, we now have a daylight therapy lamp for dd, it's helping, they are expensive but if it helps it's well worth it.

You need the intense light which a proper lightbox will supply, and it also has to be used within a certain distance from your eyes to be effective - I use mine about 50cm away IIRC. Daylight bulbs won't be bright enough. I've got a Lumie Brightspark, and you can also get LED based ones.

I was prescribed with meds (fluoxetine) a couple of winters a few years back when I was very depressed, but wasn't using the light therapy then. Some people need both though.

we went to the car boot at the weekend, saw 3 daylight boxes on there, prices where between £2-£6, might be worth a look at your local car boot,
