Small victories?

I'm putting this here because I wanted to share it with someone and no-one in real life would understand.

Today I rang my mobile phone company and changed my contract to sim only as I was paying more than I should as my initial contract ran out a few months ago. It seems like such a tiny thing to do but I've been putting it off and putting it off and paying £15 a month more than I needed to.

I still have months worth of undone admin tasks to work through. But it's a start, right? Does anyone else know what I mean and have their own small victories they've achieved?

I understand :) and I also understand the sense of accomplishment when you manage to finish a task that others might find very routine!

I've got a few things niggling me at the moment (mostly admin things), but I'm resisting doing them and I sometimes wonder if the anxiety caused by not doing them serves a function, although I've no idea what function that might be!

Well done you!

I get it, I really do. Am currently signed off (from being able to work) with depression and receiving Employment Support Allowance of £71 a week, £22 of which goes to gas & elec supplier, so living on very little. Have mountains of letters from creditors which I need to address, they call constantly all day wanting to know when I'll be paying various bills, I've turned off the ringer on my phone. I know that a day when I manage to tackle some of this is such a huge achievement. Mortgage company not far from repossessing my house, which is on the market but no buyer yet. Am hanging on by a finger nail but I know those times when I manage to face things head on, rather than hiding in bed and pretending it's not happening, make me feel so much better, instead of the alien I usually feel when I can't cope with anything and the smallest task feels impossible. So I get it and thanks for posting, as sometimes you feel you're alone in finding everyday stuff so hard to deal with.
